Yesterday Punjab Government announced the approval of free
WiFi access for public in all over Punjab, reported by Express Tribune.
According to plan free WiFi will be available at important
locations like educational institutions and universities, metro bus stands and
routes, hospitals, airports, railway stations and other places as well.
This WiFi access will be totally free for public. Punjab
Government is aiming to promote information technology in Punjab.

Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif has given approval of
the project and will be soon launched in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan in first
phase, other cities will also get free WiFi in next phase, reported by Express
Tribune.
Punjab Government aim is to provide quality education with
the help of modern technology. In this regard they had taken these steps in
past.
- Free Shahbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Laptop Schemes
- Program of digitization of textbooks by Punjab Information Technology Board, by producing CD's of science and mathematics textbooks from Grade 6 to 10.
